Flourishing Learning Network
Our founding principles
We create relationships, experiences and community that help children and young people widen their worlds, and help families feel less alone.
Relationships come first
Trusted adults, shared interests and a welcoming community create the foundations for connection and participation.
Belonging and meaningful choice
Children can watch, remain with their grown-up, take breaks and join in when ready. A diagnosis or EHCP does not define who belongs.
High expectations, high support
Low demand does not mean low aspiration. We recognise strengths and create opportunities for success, supporting manageable, voluntary steps a little beyond a child’s comfort zone.
Widening worlds
Progress can mean coming through the gate, returning next time, choosing an activity, developing independence or helping another child. Learning and participation take many forms.
Families shape our community
Parents, carers, children and young people bring knowledge, interests and ideas. Their feedback helps shape what happens next.
Growing carefully
Our activities develop alongside available resources, safeguarding arrangements and evidence of benefit. Sidekicks remains a future programme.
